Organic Memorials, Not Home Remodeling

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

One thing that is not ok is home remodeling in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. I am kind of an elitist. I don’t care if your home is falling apart, let it fall apart. That is what nature has intended for that home. Pennsylvania has really old homes, and I feel like in order to keep the structural and architectural integrity of that home, you have to let it fall apart. As much as I love home renovations, when the home is so old it is considered a historical site.

I have the same opinions of historical sites that I have of memorials and tombstones. If it is falling apart, let it fall apart. Let the memories fade into the past. We cannot remember everyone, and if they are forgotten in our every day lives, what are their memories going to do for us? I know it sounds harsh, but I really like the idea of things fading back into nature. It’s a circle of life philosophy, where we honor people until the things we honor them with go back into nature, and nature are living and organic memorials for war heroes and such. Also, memorials do nothing to help anyone. Plant gardens and trees to honor people.

True Refrigerator People

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

Home appliances can say a lot about a person.  I once had my refrigerator go out, but I was gone so much, that I didn’t even notice until a week later.  Fortunately, only the fridge went out and the freezer was still functional, but still.  What kind of person doesn’t even notice when the refrigerator stops working?  A true refrigerator person would notice within hours or a day at most.

I have a friend that has a commercial refrigerator in her home.  It may seem slightly over the top, but she has a lot of kids and when they invite friends over, the kitchen is the place they love to be.  It is like the gathering place of their home and the open area is incredibly inviting.  She loves to entertain, so when you want to surprise someone with a huge sheet cake, or maybe two, that commercial refrigerator is the best.  It has these dual doors, so she can make it all the way through dinner without the person ever even glimpsing the beautifully decorated cakes that are awaiting consumption.

That is a true refrigerator person.  It would either be a tragedy or perhaps optimistically, a motivation if someone like me had that commercial refrigerator.  I her house though, it is a beauty.
